I wish…

I had a nickel for evertyime I started to post cause I’d be pretty rich right now.
Let’s see…first of all, a big, big thanks to Marina for getting my WordPress up to speed for me with a newer version of it and plug-ins. Thanks so much for all of the help sweetie! (((big hugs)))
I can’t believe that it’s been so long since I posted but (and I hate to sound like a broken record here) life has been hectic. For the past seven months I’ve enjoyed having Dana and Kaylee here. I’ve been lucky enough to see Kaylee grow day to day, from a little baby who was just cooing to a “big girl” who crawls and cruises and jibber jabbers with some actual words thrown in. I’ve been a very lucky grammie indeed!

Summer Days

Not much is new here. I’ve just been such a bad blogger lately that I thought I should post something.
It’s been hot and muggy here which hasn’t been fun at all. I miss all of that “dry” heat. :) One day last week, our central air quit working while I was the only one home. I thought I was going to pass out! When the temp reached 87 in the house, I finally went out on the back patio, where there was at least a breeze, and waited for Tom to get home and look at. I don’t know what he did, but my wonderful guy got it working again…yay! In no time I was back in my ice castle, all comfy and cold…lol.

Exercise?

So yesterday…well actually last night, Dana and I started our water aerobics class and it was a lot of fun! Of course, it made me realize even more just how out of shape I am…but that’s a good thing right? You move non stop for the whole hour but the instructor is really nice so if people want to catch a breath that’s fine. I did pretty good considering my body and exercise are not familiar with each other…lol. The hardest thing for me was doing the arm exercises! Those were hard which surprised me. The top of my arms burned and got so sore trying to hold them above the water while doing the exercise but it seemed like a lot of people had to take a break at least once while doing them.

Let’s See…

if I still remember how to do this.
A great big hi to anyone who might be reading this. I didn’t mean to fall off the face of the earth like that but life certainly has been busy!
Joshua left for his second deployment to Iraq at the end of April and Dana and Kaylee are staying with us while he’s gone. It was hard to see him go, it doesn’t get any easier the second time around, but he’s doing good and Dana gets to talk to him every week or two. She says that the time is going by a lot faster for her this deployment though because Kaylee keeps her busy. :)

Great Time

Whew! I’ve finally slowed down enough to finally post…lol. We had a great time at Dana and Joshua’s. We spent a whole week there and we even got some sight seeing in at Joshua Tree National Park.
On our way out to Dana and Joshua’s, we got a call from Joshua on the cell phone that they were at the hospital. The whole left side of Dana’s face and her top lip was swollen up and they didn’t know why.

At Last

I’m a grandma and totally loving it! Kaylee was born on January 13th, just two days before her due date. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21.7 in. long. Mom, dad and baby are doing great!
Dana AND Joshua did terrific and I was able to be in the delivery room when Kaylee was born! It was such an awesome experience and one that I’ll always treasure!
Of course, she’s the most beautiful baby in the world…lol. Here’s some pictures for you to see.

Election Day

For those in the US, don’t forget to exercise your rights by voting today. :)
It’s been so HOT here the past few days. It was feeling like Fall until this weekend. Yesterday it was 97…ugh!! It’s hard to be in a holiday mood when it’s that hot. I just hope it cools down before Thanksgiving and stays that way till next year.
We decided to start painting the trim on the outside of the house and replace the wood on the patio roof this weekend. (bad idea)
