Back Again
Mar 5th, 2008
Well, I’m back again. Sorry that I keep disappearing like that.
Things have been a little bit hectic with my dad being sick. He didn’t have the surgery after we talked to the surgeon about our, and my dad’s primary doctor’s, concern for making it through the operation. Instead, the surgeon finally sent my dad to an oncologist and a heart specialist, and has put the surgery on hold till he hears what the other doctors have to say.
The oncologist sounded very optimistic and seemed to think that they will be able to get the cancer with chemo. My dad has an appointment next Monday with him and I’m guessing that the doc will outline his chemo treatment then. The heart specialist said that all things consider, my dad’s heart is pretty good, but his lungs are really bad, so he should take into consideration everything, weigh it, and decide if surgery is worth the risk. It turns out that it’s a 5-6 hour operation and not the 2-3 hours we thought. The heart specialist has an echo, stress test and more blood tests set up for my dad for the next couple of weeks. I think that my dad will opt for the chemo though instead of surgery.
Other than going to doctors appointments, I haven’t been doing a whole lot. Dana and Joshua stayed at home this past weekend, so no Kaylee….or Dana and Joshua too.
Sunday, since there were no kidos around, Tom and I did a little shopping and then had a really nice late lunch/early dinner at TGIFridays. It was such a nice day that we sat out on the patio and we had a really good time talking and laughing with each other! It kind of felt like a date.
Kaylee’s walking pretty good now and Dana told me over the phone yesterday that she’s now blowing kisses. She can’t walk and blow kisses at the same time though….she falls down on her behind when does…lol. Well, hopefully in time she’ll be able to do both.
We’re going to go to their place for Easter so I’m really looking forward to that!
Okay, I better get going here. I’ve been doing
all morning and I have to take another load out of the dryer. Hope you’re having a wonderful day! (((hugs)))
