Another Year

Eeeek! It’s a new year and again I’m off to a bad start with blogging. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that your New year is off to a wonderful start.
Our little Kaylee turned a year old on the 13th of this month. Where does the time go? Her birthday party “theme” was the Disney Princess’ (of course) and it was at the park. The park is really pretty and has an island with a lake that surronds it. To get on the island you walk through a covered bridge. Once you’re on the island, there’s lots of 1776 looking buildings that the kids can run through and lots of places to climb in and out of. There’s also a little pretend ship that they can play on. Then tucked away in a corner of the island, there’s a secluded area that you can rent out for parties. It’s very private and the only way to get in it is through a big gate. Inside, there’s lots of tables and chairs, a barbeque pit and there’s even a small 1776 looking building with a refrigerator and lots of space to put everything. You can decorate the whole area however you like but of course you have to pick everything up when you’re done. One side of the area sits right on the lake so you can watch the ducks swim by and it’s so nice and relaxing there. We had a really great time!

Kaylee starting walking yesterday! Proud grammie here. She has really good balance and today she was taking a good 6-7 steps before plunking down on her behind.
Dana and Joshua got a new 2008 Chevy Equinox over the weekend. It has On Star which they’re really happy about since the base is out in the middle of nowhere more or less. It’s a really nice looking little SUV.
Kevin got a job at DIS…Disney Interactive Studios. He’ll be doing video game testing and hopes that eventually it’ll lead to actually being able to design games. He’s probably had around 4 or 5 interviews with Disney, all in different divisions, but he’s happy to have his foot in the door finally, especially in an area that he really likes.
We found out right before Christmas, that my dad does have bladder cancer. He had surgery before Christmas to remove a turmor on his bladder but they weren’t able to get all of it since the tumor had grown into the muscle wall of his bladder. The surgeon wants to remove his bladder and prostate and the surgery is schedule for Feb. 7th. My dad’s regular doctor doesn’t think that he’ll be able to make it through the 2-3 hour surgery, his lungs are bad and his heart isn’t in the best of shape, but if surgery is the only option, then he’ll clear him for it. His doctor asked about biological therapy and I had also done some reading on it. It’s where they inject the bladder with biological material that fights the cancer and also revves up your immune system to help fight the cancer too. His surgeon didn’t mention it as a option, but we’re all hoping that this might be an alternative to surgery.
Okay, I’m off to go spend some time with hubby. Have a great evening and take care! ~hugs~
