Thankful For So Much

I hope everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving had a wonderful day! Our Thanksgiving was the best ever! Joshua got home from Iraq exactly one week ago today! They got in around 9:00 pm and it’s so great to have him back home with Dana and Kaylee. I have pictures to share and as if there’s not enough of them in my post  there’s a few more under Homecoming.
Dana was on pins and needles waiting for the busses and Kaylee was a real trooper! She stayed up for the whole thing which was amazing since she’s usually asleep every night by 7:30.

When the busses finally pulled up, Dana was in tears and then after a couple of minutes, there was Joshua, heading right for Dana. They had their first hug and hellos in a very long time and then I handed Kaylee to Dana who then gave her to daddy. The look of love and awe on Joshua’s face was priceless and Kaylee went right into her daddy’s arms. At first she just stared at him with this serious look, like she couldn’t figure out why he was moving and talking instead of just smiling and being still like the picture of him does…lol. Joshua bought her a stuffed lion in Germany and gave it to her and it didn’t take her long to start playing with his hat and giving him kisses. Joshua’s parents and sisters were there too, so after everyone got to welcome him home, we all went back to Dana and Joshua’s for a little bit.

Joshua and Us

Tom, Kevin and I spent the night at a hotel in 29 so we could watch Kaylee for Dana and Josh, then we went back home on Wednesday. We had enough time to make it to the grocery store and get our Thanksgiving dinner. I was even able to score not one, but two Chocolate Satin pies from Marie Calendars Thanksgiving morning!
Dana and Joshua came out on Thanksgiving and had dinner at his parent’s house. We had a really nice and simple turkey dinner with homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, dinner rolls and of course pumpkin pie. Then early evening we went over to Joshua’s parents for dessert. It was a very special Thanksgiving for all us, one that we’ll always treasure.
Dana, Joshua and Kaylee stayed with us for the weekend. Trever and Matthew got to see Josh and give him big hugs…lol. They weren’t able to get time off of work, so they couldn’t go out to 29 Palms with us when he came home. Friday, Tom, Dana, Joshua and I went out to dinner and then saw the movie Enchanted. Dana and I loved it and the guys made it through…lol. Definitely a girly girl movie, but really cute.
Friday night I started coming down with a cold, along with Kaylee, Dana and Matthew. Sunday Trever started getting sick and by the time Dana, Joshua and Kaylee left in the afternoon, everyone was sick….except for Kevin. Hmmmm…. I feel a lot better than I did but I’m really tired.
So on that note, I think I’ll call it a night. I hope you’re all having a terrific week! Take care and lots of hugs!

Hi Ginger! What a cute font you used for your blog title. I see that you’re a grandmother, too! I’m a new one with a 6 week old grandson. How wonderful that your son-in-law is safely home for the holidays! Thanks for visiting. (((Hugz)))
